i'm looking into putting up squid in accelerator mode to cache
the content on 2 web servers containing lots of dynamic content
generated out of a database. to take load of the web/db servers
we would like to cache the dynamic pages (jsp) just to avoid the
page gets regenerated whenever a visitors goes to the websites.
it's my understanding squid can handle this, but i didn't find
any specific information about the caching of the dynamic
content. the querystrings of the url's contain important
information about which article to show.
and when i look at the access log it only show url's
without querystring, everything behind the question mark is
gone, so i'm absolutely unsure wheter squid is caching
the actual content. because if it's not, it's quite useless :)
how do i get to know if squid is doing what i want and/or is
there any special configuration that needs to be done?
tia, bart
