What is the "squid -v" output?
"uname -a"
squid.conf content?
Did you had the chance to look at squid cache manager interface?
What is the size of the stress test?
the basic idea is that A connection should be usable for squid usage but
it is not from unknown reason.
Once we have more details we can try to think one step forward.
