LFUDA is just a sorting order. Objects sorted by frequency of use. Every
time an object is used that use is counted and the object pulled forward
in the 'list' to fit somewhere within the set of other objects with the
same usage count.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Least_Frequently_Used has a overview of LFU
and there is a whitepaper technical document linked from the bottom of
the wikipedia page. The 'DA' on the end is a Squid-specific adaptation
to account for object age in the sorting order.
The configuration manual for the replacement policy directive
(http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/config/cache_replacement_policy/) has
reference to the HP technical whitepapers specifically about the Squid
policies and what each does.
