[squid-users] implement squid in a LAN

hi!
i'm trying to work with squid...
can i implement squid in a LAN to test it's
usability ,
is it possible without an Internet connection?
what about the configuration of the apache and
how should the page that the apache is going to display must be?
(dynamic page
or any other parameters needed?)
