There's a difference , between authentication and authorization;
in the ip case you probably mean : ip access allowed for
a known list.
In the latter case use the 'src' ACL type. See the FAQ on 'Access Controls'

Perfectly possible if you put http_access line(s) allowing the
known ip range (ACL) , before the auth. enforcing http_access line(s).
