Hello,
I am trying to configure Squid 2.4stable7 on Mandrake Linux 9.0 for
use with proxy authentication. I want to use the ncsa_auth module. I
believe I have configured the options (so far as I understand them)
correctly. However, when I set the proxy in my web browser to point to
the squid installation on the server, I always get an access denied
message. It never prompts me for my username and password. Any
suggestions on what to change to make this work? I am posting the
relevant lines of my squid.conf:
authenticate_program /usr/lib/squid/ncsa_auth /etc/squid/passwd
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
acl manager proto cache_object

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
Sincerely,
Joshua Cook
