Greetings. I'm new to the list so please be gentle.
I am attempting to set Squid 2.5pre11 to use the wb_auth module with
winbind to authenticate users against our Win2k Active Directory
domain. I have this setup on a system using Debian unstable with
kernel 2.4.20pre1. Also I am using samba package
2.999+3.0cvs20020827-1
I feel that I have made big progress with Winbind, but wb_auth is
killing me.
Wbinfo -t gives me a good secret, and I can authenticate using
encrypted and cleartext passwords. I can also pull up lists of users
and groups.
I am going by the FAQ, and I am trying to test out the helpers. My
winbind helper in smb.conf is +. No combination of Domain\username
password Domain+\username password Domain\+username password
Domain+username password will authenticate. However I don't think
that is the problem. Viewing syslog after I do these attempts I see
Sep 6 16:09:45 proxy winbindd[177]: process_loop: Invalid request
size (1304) send, should be (1564)
For every attempt.
Also, when I try to run wb_ntlmauth it throws up
wb_ntlmauth[13376](wb_ntlm_auth.c:414): Can't contact winbindd. Dying
Winbind is running, and that line shows up in syslog again. Any help
on the matter is greatly appreciated!
