Yes it will work ! Since Active Directory is Ldap compatible (should be).
You'll need to change the code a bit. Just replace uid with cn in the code.
With Novell it's the same thing, I add to make the change. Now everything
is working fine.
I can send you the modified code if you need it.

13:57 forrestricting acess ( LDAP
Do you think this will work with Windows 2000 and Active Directory? I had
to get the latest tar to get it to work win Win2k. Active Directory seems
to require searching against cn records instead of uid records for matching
the username ...... I also noticed this patch is for 2.3 and I am running
2.4 ...... I am using the latest "squid_ldap_auth" does anyone know of a
way to make this work with group memberships?
Thanks again,

You have to apply the Group_Ldap_auth :
http://www.fatgut.org/squid/group_ldap_auth)
We are using it against a Novell Ldap directory and it work's great !
Good Luck !

2001-06-07 group membership for restricting
acess ( LDAP
11:23 helper working )
I have squid up and running with today's tarbal... and I am using the
squid_ldap_auth helper app included to authenticate against active
directory, and its working great. However, I can't figure out how to limit
acess to proxy services using membership of a group inside active
directory. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
