So far noone has come up with the packet redirection/interception
feature required in AIX.

To implement "transparent" caching the host where the first proxy runs
must be aware of to perform "transparent interception of TCP sessions",
and in case of WCCP it must also be aware of WCCP GRE decapsulation of
packets redirected by the WCCP enabled router.

Your best bet is probably talking to IBM about the TCP/IP features
required for using AIX in transparent proxy setups. Refer to the
following two technologies:

* Interception of routed TCP/IP sessions by forwarding these to local
applications regardless of destination IP. As done by IP-Filter (*BSD,
Solaris, IRIX) "rdr" NAT rule or Linux ipchains/iptables "REDIRECT"
target.

* GRE, and specifically the WCCP type where GRE is only used in one of
the directions (router->cache) with a special protocol type.
