Iīve installed Squid-2.3.STABLE4-5 from RPM downloaded from RedHat, in three
different computers and in all the cases it is very, very Slow.
The Operating System is Linux RedHat 7.0.

I donīt think that the problem is the hardware because I use a 2xINTEL
Pentium III 900 Mhz, with RAM=512 Mbīs.

The DNS is working OK in the system. Including reverse lookup.

The active lines in my squid.conf file are only this:

        cache_mem 40 MB
        cache_dir ufs /var/spool/squid 1000 16 256
        refresh_pattern ^ftp: 1440 20% 10080
        refresh_pattern ^gopher: 1440 0% 1440
        refresh_pattern . 0 20% 4320
        acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
        acl manager proto cache_object
        acl localhost src 127.0.0.1/255.255.255.255
        acl tecnicas src 172.16.0.0/255.240.0.0
        http_access allow manager localhost
        http_access deny manager
        http_access allow localhost
        http_access allow tecnicas
        http_access deny all
        miss_access allow all
        cache_mgr jlaguna@tecnicasreunidas.es
        visible_hostname infra.tecnicasreunidas.es
        logfile_rotate 5
        append_domain .tecnicasreunidas.es

Iīve an old instalation in a computer with RedHat 6.2 and squid version
2.3.STABLE1, and it works ok.

Thanks.
