I will try and explain this:
I have a LAN and I use PPP into one of the machines.
Another machine on the same segment of the lan is running squid.
It works well.
If I setup my PPP dialup to use the squid server, an odd thing happens:
I can see the logs indicate that I am hitting the squid proxy, but nothing
is delivered BACK up to my dialup...
I keep getting CONNECTION REFUSED.
Could this be an ARP issue maybe?
If I setup SSH to the squid server and use port forwarding from the ppp
client to the squid box it works fine......
If I am on the lan, ANY PC can use squid and that works well....just not
over the dialup.
I think it is due to the fact that squid cant find a route back to the
server that I am ppp'd into, but I dont know how to fix this?
ANY comments will be appreciated!
