[SQU] Request for help

I have been running squid-2.3.STABLE1 under RedHat 6.1 for approx. 12 months with no real problems. Over the last week squid keeps stopping (squid process shows as defunct) and I have to manually restart it. The last entry in cache.log is:-

assertion failed: dns_internal.c:185: "nns > 0"

I have re-compiled squid using --disable-internal-dns but this doesn't help. I think the user that caused the crash was using MSN search under IE5.....
Can you help?
