Good day!
I have installed the squid-2.3.STABLE4 in a Redhat Linux 6.1 server.
I did the following:
./config --prefix=/usr/local/squid
make all
make install
made some editing in the squid.conf
then run /usr/local/squid/bin/squid -z
then I got the error :
2000/09/13 10:49:24| Creating Swap Directories
FATAL: Failed to make swap directory /usr/local/squid/cache: (13)
Permission denied
Squid Cache (Version 2.3.STABLE4): Terminated abnormally.
CPU Usage: 0.000 seconds = 0.000 user + 0.000 sys
Maximum Resident Size: 0 KB
Page faults with physical i/o: 6
The contents of /usr/local/squid is:
bin
etc
logs
squid-2.3.STABLE4-src.tar
it did not create the cache directory so maybe the cause of the error? any
insite would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.
