Hi!
Just came to think about putting in a meta-refresh tag on the squid error page with
a value of zero and the url to redirect to. Would that classify as a good solution?

Those error pages are editable ....
Can't rmember off hand what they are called but if you search for a
series of files with fully capitalised names in the Squid dir tree you should
find then ones you need.
