AW: squid dying: xmalloc

cache size is 1 gig,
cache_mem is 16
squid is 1.1.20 (with proxy_auth patches)
top tells me the following on memory:
Mem: 127888k av, 125620K used, 2284K free, 9832K shrd, 18168K buff
Swap: 130748 av, 1616K used, 129132K free, 6724K cached
squid uses after ~3 days 66% Mem

yes, it probably runs out of memory.

I cant tell more either from the information you gave. To provide a more
detailed answer we need to know:

1. Cache size
2. cache_mem setting in squid.conf
3. squid version
4. amount of memory and swap available
5. Cachemgr may provice some clues on where the memory are used.
