Problems with cache size

Hi,
    My name is Ingrid and I´m from Argentina. (Sorry my English). I have
problems configuring the cache size of the squid. In the squid-conf file
I have 5000 Mb of cache swap, but when I read the statistics the squid
only uses 4100 Mb and I don´t know why. Could anybody tell me what can I
do to solve this problem?
