Memory Usage

My squid process is using far more memory than it should be. I'm
running 1.1.10. Last night i noticed that 62 M had been consumed by
squid. Here are my memory setimgs:

cache_mem 8
cache_mem_low 75
cache_mem_high 90

What gives here. I realize that cache mem should be whatever value i
think is acceptable divided by 3. So why is so much memory being
consumed?
