Squid is not a firewall-style "proxy", therefore it won't work with those
settings; most (all?) FTP clients cannot use an FTP proxy such as Squid
(or Netscape, or Apache, or CERN/W3C, &c.), because in this case the
proxies use HTTP to talk to the client and FTP to talk to the remote
server. Regular FTP clients only talk FTP, nothing else.
You're trying to talk FTP to a HTTP-only port, and the server there
(Squid) has no idea what you're saying. :-)

Yup. Use Netscape/Mosaic/whatever with the "ftp://" style URL and that'll
work through a Squid (or other) proxy.
