Uhm, hmm. Dunno about the SELECT_TYPE_ARG stuff.
The SELECT_TYPE stuff was goingt o be used in src/Makefile.in to
determine which comm_${SELECT_TYPE}.c file to compile. Automake
doesn't make that easy, so I'm just compiling them all, and wrapping
each one in an #ifdef USE_FOO ..
